Welcome to the Historic First Masonic District of Massachusetts

The First Masonic District is home to ten distinguished lodges — a brotherhood woven through centuries of tradition, leadership, and service. Several of our lodges stand among the oldest in the nation, and their history lives vibrantly within our walls.

Nestled in the heart of downtown Boston, nine of our ten lodges meet within one of the most iconic Masonic structures in the world: the Grand Lodge of Massachusetts at 186 Tremont Street, a cornerstone of our Craft since 1899. Our tenth lodge, King Solomon's Lodge, proudly meets at the Arlington Masonic Building in Arlington, Massachusetts, extending our district's rich traditions and fellowship beyond the heart of Boston.

Together, these ten lodges represent a proud and enduring legacy of Freemasonry, united by a shared commitment to brotherhood, personal growth, charity, and service to our communities.
